ABOUT JAN ASONG

Jan Asong was educated at Washington University in St. Louis, MO where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in the History of Art. She continued her studies at The City College of New York, where she received a Bachelor of Architecture degree. She is licensed to practice architecture in the State of New York, and in Connecticut. She maintains a membership in the American Institute of Architects.

Prior to establishing her own practice in 1986, she worked as Project Manager for Shelly Kroop, Architects, an architectural design firm whose primary client was the New York City Housing and Preservation Department for the renovation and restoration of pre-war residential buildings. Working in this capacity for over 8 years, Jan acquired the extensive experience of designing affordable housing which conformed to all NYC housing standards.  

She also experienced as the project manager for the preparation of architectural plans, pre-construction surveys and feasibility studies, field reports and structural analysis of multi-storied steel and masonry buildings.
